Activities at Gweryd Lakes in North Wales

Gweryd Lakes, set in the heart of the Clwyd Mountains Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is an ideal centre for many holiday activities including walking, mountain biking, riding and many other activities.

Activities in the immediate vicinity include golf, paragliding, and rock climbing or more leisurely sight seeing throughout the area.

Walking

Gweryd Lakes’ location provides immediate access to both long distance and a variety of day routes to cater for all levels of walking.

Long Distance – Offa’s Dyke path runs along Gweryd Lake’s western boundary. Walkers can enjoy an overnight stop in a choice of reasonably priced accommodation with meals available.

Day Walking – Whether you want a short walk through Gweryd Lakes’ 80 acres of woodland or a more strenuous day long route, we can provide either a base from where to start and return or a stop off point en route for coffee, lunch or tea for individuals or larger parties.

We can provide:

Routes and guide notes for routes from 1 to 8 hours – including "Walk to us" routes.
Pick up and collection service by prior arrangement.
Car parking

Mountain Biking

Gweryd Lakes is situated in the midst of a top mountain biking area – the Clwydian Mountains in Denbighshire, North Wales.

Our new café and accommodation facilities are situated on a major mountain biking route. So if you want an overnight stop, a base for a mountain biking holiday or a quick refreshment break we are the place. We can offer:

and lodgepole pine small 4-5ft min charge £25 or larger £5 per foot up to 12ft, Delivery of large trees can be arranged.

Up in the wilds of the Clwydians Hills near to Loggerheads Country Park,

Gweryd Lakes and Hideaways Café in Llanarmon-yn-Ial will be holding a Halloween Special this school half term. Adults and children can be frightened in the Scary Dark Wood, play in the Halloween Games Barn , test their brains and stamina on the Woodland Quiz Trail and there will be themed food on offer in Hideaways Café. You can join the staff in fancy dress if you want!!!

Gweryd will be open as usual for fishing but these activities will be open from 12 – last orders 4pm weekend 22 Oct and through the half term week on the Friday and Saturday and Sunday.

NEW BORN PIGLETS

One of our resident sows, Sophie, gave birth to 9 piglets on 8th August!

Wilbur and Sophie are proud to show off their newest arrivals in our woodland by the shop here at Gweryd.

9 little piglets, spotty, ginger and stripey ones appeared in the morning on 8th August.

Mummy and babies are doing well and happy to see visitors.
