Silver and Pleasure Fishing at Gweryd Lakes in North Wales

Gweryd Lakes provides an excellent and easily accessible location to come match/pleasure fishing. There is a choice of three lakes each with pegs suitable for pole or all types of rod fishing.

Llyn Gweryd (12½ acres: 5 ha), a natural spring fed lake contains specimen:

• Bream to 10lbs
• Tench to 10 lbs
• Perch over 5lbs
• Crucian Carp to 3lbs
• Roach over 2 lbs

Plus Rudd and an abundance of Skimmer Bream. Winter catches of 20lbs and summer ones of 80lbs are a regular feature.

Llyn Gweryd has a large number of pegs suitable for specimen and pleasure fishing. All are easily accessible from the three car parks. A number are suitable for disabled anglers.

Llyn Ewan is a 1¾ acre (.75 ha) lake containing a large head of silver fish (6-7000). It is an ideal lake for pleasure fishing. Its 20 pegs are easily accessible from the car park.

• Bream to 4½ lbs
• Tench to 5lbs
• Perch to 2 lbs
• Carp to double figures
• Crucian Carp to 2 lbs

Plus Rudd and Skimmer Bream. Large nets of fish (60-70lbs) are frequently achieved.

Llyn Louis – a ¾ acre (.4ha) lake contains carp to 10lbs and Tench to 5lbs. It is ideally suited for the pole angler who wants to go after carp.

All the lakes are day ticket waters. Longer stays are possible and a range of accommodation is available at Gweryd Lakes for anglers and their families.

All the back-up facilities you need are on site. Tackle, bait and information are available from the shop. An excellent choice of food, from take away snacks to full meals is available from the café.

There are toilet facilities on both banks of Llyn Gweryd and also at Llyn Ewan. Showers and drying facilities are located in the shop complex.
