(Unfortunately we cannot offer trekking or hire of horses.) We also offer livery facilities for a small number of horses (see bottom of page). Enjoy spectacular views and stunning scenery, whilst you exercise and have fun with your horse. Gweryd Lakes has ample parking space for horseboxes and trailers. Livery FacilitiesWe are a riding and competing family, who provide excellent facilities for a maximum of ten liveries at any one time. The American Barn style stables are set within 150 acres of pasture, lakes and woodland located within the Clwyd Mountains Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Denbighshire. Flexible DIY or part livery options are available to suit the needs of each and every rider from £20 per horse per week.
The stables are located 50 metres from a bridle path, which gives access to miles of riding throughout the area on bridle paths, old drovers routes and quiet country lanes. We are part of Wales On Horseback, which provides a network of routes, route guides and accommodation for horse and rider throughout NE Wales. Our facilities are designed to enable you to enjoy your horse outdoors and indoors whatever the weather. If you want a lift to go on the finals day 17th July a minibus is being organised from Coachmans Riding Centre Sychdyn nr Mold and on route pickups might be possible. If you need help with looking after you horse this winter we have packages to suit. We have a lit indoor school so riding is possible in welsh weather and winter short days. We have fabulous lanes and bridleways and riding. We have a farm ride through woodland and tracks. Qualified intruction available and schooling undertaken. Convincing win for Celyn Polocrosse Club hosted a weekend of international test matches alongside their club tournament, in Mollington, Nr Chester last weekend. Two Open test matches The results Open Ladies: Saturday: 28-11 Sunday: 29-16 Winning Annemieke Mitchell (20) Annie Waterer (21) Charlotte Pykett (22) Debbie Harris (29) Lucy Shell (24) Ruth Jones (35) Sarah Peaker (23) Sarah Simkin (35) The Ladies played at 12:30 on Saturday and were tuned in from the off, putting in a very good tactical team performance. In a game where you play just 6 minute chukkas it is essential to be on the ball instantly and focused all the time. As an international the two sections played 4 chukkas each on the same horse with just one spare to substitute in but with 2 extra players to swap in. For two of the ladies this was their first open international and they all were skilfully swapped into the match by their coach Doug Web who had come over for a month to coach the team from After a brilliant win on Saturday, the Open Mens: Saturday: 19- 28 Sunday: 20- 30 Winners: Juniors: The teams played each other once on Saturday and once on Sunday. The team from NSW Australia had come over by invitation to stay in this country hosted by different families for a month playing some UK tournaments culminating in this Tri Nations event with the u16 Irish bringing their own horses and the UK loaning horses to the Aussies.
