Gweryd Lakes is set in the heart of the Clwyd Mountains Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in North Wales - see a panoramic view of the lakes. The lakes are a few miles to the south of the A494 between Mold and Ruthin and have good access from North Wales and North West England via the A55 and M56.

Tourist Attractions and Natural Beauty around Gweryd

While you are at Gweryd there are plenty of things for you to do if you fancy a day sight seeing, or if some other members of your party to do while you are fishing or riding etc.

There are numerous tourist attractions in this part of North Wales including the National Trust properties at Erddig near Wrexham and Chirk Castle. Llangollen (home of the International Eisteddfod) is close by with its steam railway and interesting shops. The whole of North Wales is within easy reach with its many steam railways, castles and other attractions.

You can also just explore the many natural attractions that North Wales has to offer. Gweryd nestles in the Clwydian Range of mountains next to the Vale of Clywd which offers stunning scenery. To the west you can explore the higher peaks of the Snowdonia National Park with its lakes and mountains including the famous summit of Snowdon.

The area offers a great variety of scenery including the coastline of North Wales to the north with its sandy beaches and invigorating sea air.
